How contributions work
- The editor reads every note first.
- Verified means a manual or two sources.
- A community tip stays labelled as a tip.
Review
Nothing goes live unchecked.
The form sends a note to the editor. The site you are reading is a folder of pages. A note becomes a page only after a person has put it there.
- You send a type, the years and the engine, the information, and a source. A mod or upgrade is one of the types.
- The editor checks the source. A manual, or two independent sources, can support a verified line. One person’s experience stays a community tip.
- If it is published, it appears on the contributions index and on the guide or spec page it belongs to.
- If two sources disagree, the line is marked disputed and both accounts stay visible.
The badges
- Verified Checked against a workshop manual, or against two independent sources.
- Community tip Unverified. Clearly a tip, not a specification.
- Disputed/needs checking The sources do not agree, or the note conflicts with a figure already on the site.
Credit
If you tick the consent box and give a handle, a published note says “Supplied by” that handle. If you leave the handle blank, it says “Anonymous contributor”. The email is for a question back. It is not printed.
How to correct something
Send the form again with the type set to correction, and name the page. A wrong figure is taken down or marked disputed. The what’s still missing page is the list of gaps that need a source.
There are no example notes pretending to be owner reports. The contributions index stays empty until a real note has been reviewed.
