Engine

Often a Rotax 122 in Italy from 1995, and often still a Rotax 123 in the UK and much of Europe until about 1997–98. To verify on the casting.

Where the numbers are

From the MP model the plate is on the frame to the right of the headstock. Positions 4–5 are the model code. Position 10 is the model year, where the brief lists a letter. The casting locations are on Identify.

Body

Round headlight with a lip, and a digital temperature gauge on the MP shape that still uses the GS fairing outline.

Colours and replicas

• Max Biaggi Chesterfield, through 1996.
• Doriano Romboni, listed for 1996.
• Racing Silver, listed for 1996–1997.

A replica is a decal scheme. It is not a different engine.

Known weak points

• The wrong engine story. 123 parts are scarce.
